Inspiration strikes in the strangest ways. A news story about a stranded sheep, Leo Sayer’s ‘Alone Again (Naturally)’ serendipitously playing in the background – the coincidence felt too tempting to ignore. I wanted the painting’s vibrant blues and greens to amplify that sense of isolation, a solitary, tiny figure against a vast landscape.
Thankfully, the sheep’s story had a happy ending, as it was eventually rescued and brought to safety.
