In 1977, during a three-month hitch-hiking odyssey, I stood at a desolate crossroads in Iran, the sun blazing overhead, vast dry land stretching endlessly. In that moment, I felt a deep insignificance—a solitary figure in the immensity of the landscape. But then, while trekking in the Sahara Desert, I was struck by how even the tiniest beetle leaves its mark in the superfine sand, a humbling reminder that every being, no matter how small, leaves an impact. These moments of awe and introspection inform my life and my art. Through my paintings, I strive to capture both their grandeur and the quiet lessons of these landscapes, hoping they inspire you to reflect on your own place in the world.
