Having grown up in Ireland, with its ‘soft rains’, I am and always have been a sun worshipper. I love the feel of sunlight on my face in the morning – it brings me alive. In “Sunlight in the Morning” (2012), I wanted to catch the exhilaration of early morning sunlight bursting through trees in a forest, calling for the world to awake. This abstract oil painting is an invitation to embrace each new day with a sense of wonder and optimism.
