The Fall

The Fall

Oil paint on canvas board

Size: 51 x 40.5 x .5 cm

Framed: 53 x 42.5 x 3 cm

“The Fall” was inspired by the famous John Lennon quote, “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans”.

I wanted to explore the fleeting nature of time and the inevitability of change. The colour palette and brushwork were chosen to reflect the truth that change can be warm or cold, good or bad, but is usually not as dark as we initially feared.

The title, “The Fall,” alludes to how quickly one’s life can turn. One moment, you may be living in paradise, and the next, you find yourself tumbling into the unknown.

Yet, amidst the uncertainty, there lies a sense of liberation in embracing the inevitability of change. So, “The Fall” is a gentle reminder to let the chips, or, in this case, the slices, fall where they may. Ultimately, there is solace in the beauty of impermanence.
