Two Rings

The inspiration for Two Rings was probably Saturn, but the painting grew out of something much broader: a fascination with the extraordinary images being revealed by modern astronomy.

The photographs returned by the Hubble Space Telescope, and more recently by the James Webb Space Telescope, reveal a universe that is vast, mysterious, surprising, and always breathtakingly beautiful. They remind us that we are just a tiny part of something far greater than we can ever truly comprehend.
