This painting is a reflection on the stories we tell ourselves about the past. Some memories sustain us; others can trap us. We all carry old wounds, but I have always believed that most of us are far more fortunate than we realise. The past shapes us, but life is lived in the present. Surrounded by opportunities, relationships, and possibilities, we can easily lose sight of what we have if our gaze remains fixed on what has been lost.
